OVERVIEW OF Initial Steps of Designing 

1) mark first of all columns in architectural drawings 
2) then mark beams at all plans of architectural drawings , such as for ground floor plan mark plinth beams for that plan and also mark first floor beams for that plan 

and for all other plans except ground floor mark beams for above floor means for first floor plan of architectural drawing mark 2nd floor beams and so on 

3) now first of all see architectural sections and finalzie beam sizes initially 

4) now calculate slab thicknesses of each panels

5) now your framing is complete 

6) write down loads on slabs i.e live loads . finishes , sunk load 
7) now make 3d model of this frame in etabs or any other designing software , complete that model correctly in this step if you are designing manually then you have to transfer loads from slabs to beams then anaylse that beams by using any structural analysis method such as slope deflection method

8) now finalize columns and beam sizes and then design Foundation for that building and then finalize foundation sizes and then design design columns , beams , slabs i.e provide reinforcement of beams , columns , slabs
